The concept of a firewall is derived from the actual firewall, which
is a fireproof wall used to prevent the spread of fire in buildings. A
firewall in terms of computing refers to software programs or hardware
programs located at the entry point of network systems to monitor
incoming and outgoing traffic and protect the computer against
unauthorized access including malicious programs and hackers. Their
primary purpose is to keep the network secure since the internet is a
very volatile environment with ever-present danger of hackers and
malicious codes. These tools are especially important for corporate
network systems that store very sensitive information. In this case,
this institution may need to use multiple redundancy firewalls to ensure
maximum security for their information. Hackers and creators of
malicious programs are advancing rapidly, meaning that the firewalls
have to become advanced as well so as not to be compromised. There are
many firewalls in the market that are very advanced and that guarantee
maximum security for your computer system.
How a Firewall Functions
Basically,
a firewall for computer security performs three basic functions. These
firewalls include packet filters, application level gateways and circuit
relays. Each of them performs distinct tasks that contribute to the
security of your computer system. Below is an explanation of each type
of firewalls:
1. Packet Filters
Packet filtering is offered
by the most basic firewalls. A packet is a given amount of data of a
limited size, kept small to increase ease of handling. Internet traffic
flows in form of data packets.
Packet filters only examine the
protocols and address information of each data packet. Its relationship
to other data packets and its content are not examined. This firewall
doesn't know the source of such data and doesn't examine the
applications on the host or local network.
These firewalls can be
configured to allow or reject data packets depending on their IP
address, their destination ports or according to their protocol. Packet
filtering is a good form of security, but is not the absolute best. Its
main downsides are that the address information can be falsified by the
sender and data in a given packet may manipulate the computer system
giving a loophole to hackers. It is upside is that it is very simple and
easy to implement.
2. Circuit Relays
Circuit relays are
also called circuit level gateways. This firewall provides additional
security in the computer system. It uses the tactic of validating the
network connections before allowing data to be exchanged. This type of
firewalls not only allows or disallows data packets, but also ensure
that the connection between both ends is valid according to the
configured policies. If the connections are valid, it allows data from
the allowed source for a limited duration according to its
configuration.
The validity of a connection is determined by
factors such as the destination IP address, source IP address,
destination port, source port, time of day, user, protocol and the
password. Once a connection is established, no further checking occurs.
3. Application Gateway
This
firewall approach applies specific security measures to applications
such as the FTP and Telnet servers. The application gateway acts on
behalf of the servers and handles all the exchanges with your computer
system.
It can allow or reject data depending on its
configuration. For instance, it can allow some commands to servers but
not others. However, this approach can cause a lapse in performance.
There
are many firewalls that can carry out all the three basic tasks or each
distinct tasks. Examples include SonicWall fire wall, Comodo Firewall
Pro, Eset Smart security etc. Most of these firewalls combine the three
approaches. In addition, they come with antivirus software and spyware
protection. For big corporate computer systems, more advanced firewalls
are recommended.
In conclusions, firewalls are necessary for your
computer security. They may save you more than you can imagine.
Therefore, it is necessary to select the best firewall for computer
security.

SAN is an acronym for Storage Area Network, which is a high-speed
specialized network that links different storage devices at particular
data servers. The system connects a number of virtual hard drives
referred to as LUNs. It provides a channel for a large network of users
to store and retrieve information from particular servers on the
network. SAN storage systems are part of the many resources owned by
many elite business enterprises. They offer access to merged, block data
storage operations as opposed to file abstraction operations. In some
cases, these additional systems can be designed on top of the SAN
systems to provide access to the files and are referred to as SAN file
systems. This system simplifies storage management and increases
flexibility as the data cables don't have to be moved physically to
change storage from one server to the next. Therefore, it makes
administration of data easier. There are many companies that offer
quality SAN storage products that meet diverse storage needs. Choice of a
SAN system depends on your storage needs. This technology has found
wide application in contemporary data center enterprises.
Advantages of
SAN Storage Systems
SAN
systems offer many benefits to business enterprises. The main benefit
of this system is that it allows easy management of storage resources.
In addition, you can change from one storage divide in an associated
server to another without much hustle.
This system also allows
servers to boot from the resources of linked within. They allow for
faster replacement of servers that are down since the storage area
network can allows the replacement servers to use the virtual hard disks
of the replaced servers.
Moreover, SAN systems enable high
efficiency in the disaster recovery process. This system can link up
with secondary storage device at a distant server to enable storage
replication. The SAN Storage system can use many Internet Protocols to
transport data to different locations. These include Fiber Channel over
Internet Protocol (FCIP) and iSCSI.
Companies that Offer SAN Storage Products
The
most common computer companies such as HP, Dell and IBM produce SAN
products tailored to serve corporate needs. These systems ensure
continuance of the business enterprises even in the event of disaster by
providing backup data storage facilities. Below are some of the most
popular computer technology companies and the SAN products they offer.
1. HP Storage Area Network
This
company is a global leader in the provision of SAN systems that are
compatible to most corporate computer infrastructure. They offer open,
flexible and standard-based product that can suit any scale of business
operations. Their products can be customized according to your
specifications. They include SAN switches, SAN directors, routers etc.
2. IBM SAN Systems
IBM
offers SAN solutions that are tailored to integrate both enterprise and
SMB SAN solutions. Their products include enterprise SAN directors,
mid-range SAN switches, entry SAN switches, Converged switches and more.
3. Oracle SAN Systems
This
company offers many SAN storage products that suit all sizes of
business. An example of its products includes the Pillar Axiom 600,
which offers consolidation of storage devices at high performance and
efficiency. This equipment supports multiple applications and i very
suitable for any business.
These are just but a few companies in a
market that has numerous companies and products. The choice of a
SAN storage system will depend on the pricing, your needs and the features
offered. Basically, a SAN system requires the purchase of SAN switches,
routers, SAN directors and many other hardware components and software
programs.

Being a business owner can be stressful with all of the different
responsibilities there are to tend to on a daily basis. Knowing whether
or not your customer calls are being handled in the proper manner can
relieve some of that stress and provide your company with a better
reputation.
What is
Call Recording?
This software can easily
be installed on your business phone lines so you can keep track of all
calls that come in and go out. Once the installation is done, you can
listen in on phone calls to see how well your employees are handling
different situations. Most businesses today use these so they can fine
tune their customer service and determine which employees need more
training.
With this software you will be able to play back, rewind
and fast forward through different calls. They can also be saved to
specific files of customers so you can keep notes more effectively.
Instead of writing notes about what someone said, you can keep the exact
recording so there are no questions.
Benefits of Recording Software
The benefits of this software are endless for all types of businesses. These include:
- Customer service
- Training
- Quality assurance
- Accuracy
When
it comes to customer service, you will be able to see how well your
customers are being treated. This will give you insight to see what is
working and what you need to change. Since employees provide customer
service based on what they learn during training, you could find that
you need to adjust how things are done. With better customer service you
will find your customers are a lot more satisfied.
When it comes
to actually training employees,
call recordings are extremely effective.
You can easily play back phone calls to give trainees an idea of how
calls should and should not be handled. You could play a previous phone
call with bad customer service, a phone call where the customer was
angry or a phone call where the manager needed to be contacted. Real
life examples are generally a lot more effective when it comes to
training. Some software programs will even allow you to listen in on
calls so you can have your customer service representatives coached
while talking to callers.
With information about quality assurance
you can find out what needs to be changed within your company. You can
use the phone calls to collect data about products, services, complains
and more. From here you can use that data to change things around and
make sure your clients are getting what they need from your company.
Call recordings are also extremely important when it comes to accuracy with
notes and customer files. For example, what would you do if a customer
said one thing happened during a phone call and the employee said
another? With the recordings you can go back to that exact phone call
and find out what did happen. This can be then used for training in the
future and to show employees what they should have done.

Finding your perfect
wedding rings starts with knowing what each person wants. After you find out this information you will be able to get started with the shopping process!
Budget
If you don't set your budget before you get started, you're in for a lot of frustration and most likely disappointment as well. Rings can vary greatly based on designer, diamond clarity, material of the band and many other factors. By setting your budget ahead of time you will know the maximum amount you want to spend on both. Keep in mind that you need to save some room in the budget for sizing and any personalization’s you might want.
Materials
Before you go shopping, look around online at pictures to get an idea of what styles each of you like. This will help you narrow down your choices when you're actually in the jewelry store. Platinum, yellow gold, cubic zirconia, diamonds, etc., are all materials you can consider. Each of you might like something different and that is alright! You don't have to have rings that match each other if you don't want to. Since this is something you will wear all the time, you should enjoy how it looks on your hand.
Style
Choose a style of ring you are going to like for a long time to come. While you might think a new style is really pretty right now, you might not like it in the future. A lot of people go with the classic designs since those are the ones that tend to look the best throughout life. It's up to you; just make sure your
wedding rings have the styles both of you like.
Shopping
You will find that there are a lot of different jewelry stores near you, so choosing one of these to shop at might be a challenge. One thing you do need to keep in mind is your budget when you're looking from store to store. If you don't have a lot to spend, you might want to avoid going to high end jewelry stores that tend to mark up their
wedding rings. Pawn shops are great for those budgeting and don't be afraid to look at clearance/sale sections. You can find a lot of quality pieces for low prices if you just look for them.
It's also important that you shop in person while buying these. Although you can find a lot of rings online, you won't be able to try them on. Seeing a ring in person can totally change the way you think about it, especially when it's on your actual hand. Trying on different styles might result in finding something you normally wouldn't have considered before.
Sizing
Getting your ring sized perfectly is really important for both of these. If they are too small they are going to be extremely difficult to get off and if they are too big they could end up falling off. Since neither of these options are good ones, you should get your rings professionally sized. Your jeweler will normally do this for you so the rings can be adjusted before you take them home.

Mens rings can be a bit more difficult to pick out than those made for women. Here are some of the top things to consider when buying one of these:
1. Material
If you are looking for an affordable ring, titanium is a great choice. These are very affordable and have a nice look to them. These are generally available in plain styles, but they are also available with diamonds in them. The shine of these is nice and the darker color is very masculine. Tungsten is another popular choice that is very affordable. This is durable, has a masculine appearance and comes in a variety of different styles. This is also a material that is hypoallergenic so it won't irritate sensitive skin. Gold and platinum are great choices if you're looking for something expensive and traditional. These are available in a variety of colors and karat weights as well.
2. Gemstones and Diamonds
Most mens rings are made without diamonds and gemstones in them, but this isn't always the case. If you want a ring with a bit of shine to it, you will be able to find it. These are readily available from a lot of different jewelers and the price will depend on how many gems or diamonds are on it. Some rings have just a couple of diamonds on them while others have a lot. Make sure you get the style your partner likes the best and not something too flashy or dull.
3. Style
Some rings have fine details on them that add some character to them. For example, braiding is something you will see often on the edges of some rings. There are also engraving options if you want to add a special message or just your initials to the band. Tribal designs are quite common as well and can add a unique touch to any ring for a man. Some of these have small designs while others are a lot more intricate, the price will vary accordingly.
4. Size
Generally you will see mens rings that are wider than most women's rings are. The thick design is pretty easy to find, but there are some that have a simpler and thin band to them. The thickness of the ring will also vary based on the material and style that you choose. The thicker the ring is, the more durable it's going to be. Just make sure it's not too heavy or it could end up irritating the skin and feeling heavy on the finger.
5. Culture
If your man has a lot of pride for his culture, incorporate that into this gift! Celtic rings are great for religious purposes and have a lot of beautiful details on them. These can easily be found at most jewelry stores and online. If he's Brazilian the best choice is going to be gold; this is the most traditional ring type in Brazil. You can easily look up information about the best rings for each culture by doing research online. This can result in finding a great ring he can wear for life.
